November…seriously?
In some ways this year spun out faster than the end of a roll of toilet paper (back in the spring, when TP was in short supply). And in other ways this was the longest. year. ever. One thing is sure, though—it was a great time for a little reflection and redirection.
Every January I start a new journal—oh, the joy of fresh pages!—and in the front I lay out my goals for the year. So much to accomplish and so little time. It fills me with a sense of purpose and vigor. Ironically, this year I never wrote down my goals. It’s not that I sensed a coming disturbance in the force, but I never did settle on a burning drive to accomplish X, Y, and most importantly, Z.
And yet I accomplished more this year than I would have ever planned for myself! All that extra time at home was a balm to my weary soul. Sure, there were trying times, uncertain times…and we’re not through it all yet. But on the whole, it was this introvert’s dream.
In any case, as we cruise toward the end of the year, it’s a great time to finish strong! Before 2020 is over, I plan to have my novel, Crumbs of Passion, polished and (almost) ready to release, have two more classes for my Master of Library and Information Science degree knocked out, and have book 2 in my mystery series well underway. Also, I landed a job as a part-time librarian—coolest thing ever!
Also, did I tell you? I have a fun free short story called The Mystery of the Missing Groom available for my newsletter subscribers. It’s a prequel to Crumbs, and it was a hoot to write!
